Dark Hallways

As I drift through the dark hallways of your heart
I notice on the cold, wet floor a missing part
Some might call it art
How beautifully he tore you apart
He hurt you
Destroying your security
Obstructing your process of maturity
Depleting your last reserve of purity
You’ll never again have surety
You’ve changed
It’ll never be the same
Hiding your feelings
Fearing shame
And whose to blame?
Anyone within reach?
You still try to forget his name
Always looking for someone to frame
For something that you overcame
Go ahead if it keeps you sane
You don’t deserve this
And neither do i
No catcher in the rye
So you just close your eyes
And reach for the sky
Don’t leave me
