Poets’ Corner: Looking back

In May 2015 arts charity Leaveners launched Poets’ Corner as a platform for aspiring poets, providing opportunities for skills building and exhibiting work.

During this month the Guest Poetry Curators will look back at the highlights of last year. Guest Poetry Curators Rachel Arnold, Patrick Sarsfield, Pete Stones, Alison Solomon, Ciaran Hodgers and Tom Crompton will be sharing their favourite poems with you and will give you an insight in their own work.

Over the past year…

30 aspiring poets from more than 12 different countries have published work on Poets’ Corner, often sharing their writings with a larger audience for the first time

6 experienced poets have worked with Poets’ Corner as ‘Guest Poetry Curators’ sharing their skills and expertise as mentors to the aspiring poets

14 opportunities for exhibiting poetry were organised to bring poetry from the screen to the wall

2 collections of ‘Poetry for Change’ were published with poets from around the world responding to our Open Calls on ‘Displacement: Stories of Hope and Humanity’ and ‘Neighbours: Intimate strangers’
Who or what inspired you the most at Poets’ Corner?
